METHYLENE CHLORIDE SUPPLIERS - ORGANIC SOLVENT PROVIDER : Dichloromethane (DCM) is a colorless and volatile liquid that is widely used as a solvent. First developed by French chemist Henri Victor Regnault in 1840 by isolating DCM from a mixture of chloromethane and chlorine that was exposed to sunlight. It is widely used as a paint stripper and a degreaser. In the food industry, it is used to decaffeinate coffee and tea and prepare extracts of hops and other flavorings. DCM is used as aerosol spray propellant and as a blowing agent for polyurethane foams.
